A reaction against the algorithm

In our world today, everything is filtered and served to us by algorithms, making life feel a bit "filtered," as Kyle Chayka so eloquently puts it in his book, Filterworld: How Algorithms Flattened Culture. And although an algorithm likely brought you here, this blog aims to react against that phenomenon.

You won't find content here about chasing trends or fitting into the mould of what an algorithm thinks you want or would like. Instead, it's about offering something different that breaks free from the confines of the filter bubble.

Think of this blog as a space to explore random connections. It's a place to escape the echo chamber and engage with ideas, perspectives, and experiences that might not otherwise cross your path.

This isn’t meant to be the ultimate guide or the final word on anything. You have your choices and opinions, and I respect that. This blog is simply a space to share a collection of "random" ideas and items in a way that feels true to me. I hope this blog is entertaining and informative and serves you meaningfully. I write this while listening to "Doctor" by Sam Bambery, an easy-going folksy dream-pop haunting song, on my Sennheiser headphones. It is a win for algorithms.

Taking the plunge (and overcoming my doubts)

Trust me—I've thought a lot about starting this blog. You should know I think myself out of my ideas for fear of wasting everybody's time, including mine. If you suffer from this, I feel you! I almost pulled the plug on the whole idea after having some technical difficulties with this hosting platform. But here it is—I'm taking the plunge and sharing my thoughts with you. This blog will be an insights library for the FUKKT YouTube Channel, Etsy store, Amazon Merch-on-Demand listings, and Pinterest boards (these four links are "affiliate links" where I would benefit from your patronage).

A long time coming (and a hopeful beginning)

I've been creating and managing websites for a long time, and it feels like the right time to launch this project that has been brewing in my mind for over twenty years. I hope you’ll join me on this journey and find something that speaks to you here.
